Directions

  • Coming from Tangalle, on Hambantota road, near the 203km-mark, turn right on Netolpitiya junction (Coming from Ranna/Hambantota direction, turn left).
  • You are now on Rekawa Road. Continue straight for about 3 km, until you reach the Rekawa junction bus stand. Follow the road to the right and keep on going straight. On your left hand side, you will see paddy fields. You might see little wooden signs saying ‘Turtle watch’ or ‘Buckingham Place’. Follow them.
  • After about 600m, you will see a sign saying ‘Turtle View Resort’. Don’t follow that sign (to the left), but continue straight.
  • After another 600m, following the road, you will reach a bumpy road and the entrance to Buckingham Place. If you follow the road to the left, you reach the Turtle Watch visitor center.

From Tangalle, tuktuk drivers usually charge 2000-2500 Rs. Do not pay more! For 2000-2500 Rs, they will bring you here, wait while you are on the beach, and take you back when you want to return.
